Fold an 11x17 for Automation

Fold an 11x17 for Automation

The following is step-by-step example of the "correct" way to fold an 11" x 17" sheet to be automation compatible. When the open edge occurs at the top of the self-mailer, two tabs are required to seal this edge. By designing your newsletters in the following format, you can save approximately $0.05 per piece on postage. Our folding equipment can make both folds in a single pass, saving you additional time and money on your next project.

Step 1

Looking at the address panel, fold the right side of sheet behind left side. The size will now be 8.5" wide by 11" tall.
